Auto or Revolver?

You've decided it's time to pull the trigger on a new 24/7 carry handgun.  Honestly, it's about time...  However, after many hours of cruising the Internet, and YouTube, you're not any closer to picking one.

It can be confusing.

I too have been where you're sitting.  It's easy to get bogged down.  Who wants to make a mistake when doing something SO important...

The first thing I would suggest is lighten up your intensity a bit.  When I talk to clients, I don't mention caliber, ballistics, or accuracy.

I try to help them focus on what I feel matters most; size and weight.  If its either of these, the odds are high that we'll leave it at home.  I can't tell you how many times clients have tried to explain how they are different.  How they are disciplined, and if they set their minds to carry, they'll carry.  "Todd, if I thought I'd need one, I'd carry a bazooka religiously."  Yea, right...

Forget caliber, and focus 100% on size and weight.  The smaller and lighter, the better.  If you're torn between one that's 8oz, and one that's 10oz, buy the 8oz.  If its too big to stuff inside your pant front pocket, while in a holster, ITS TOO BIG..!

You might have convinced yourself that whatever you buy MUST feel great in your hand.  That if its too small, it won't be fun to shoot.  After a few rounds, your hands start to get sore  Too tiresome to shoot.  Tough to shoot accurately...  Yea, yea, yea....  Here's what I have to say about that, "Yea, but you have it with you!"

Yes, small guns are more challenging to shoot, and most are not super fun at the range, but you'll carry it.

Revolver or Auto?  I carry a Auto because they're smaller.  What, you want more?  Sorry, that's it.  It's the right size, so that's what I carry.

It's really that simple.
